About Zen Den

I built Zen Den around a problem I kept seeing everywhere — including in my own life. Most of us already know a lot of the things that are supposed to help us feel and function better. Move more. Sleep better. Manage stress. Put the phone down. Make time for the things that matter. Knowing isn't usually the hardest part. Living it when life gets busy, stressful or exhausting is.

That gap between knowing and living became the starting point for Zen Den.

Hi, I'm Ricky. My background is in psychology, with a Master's degree in Health Psychology and additional training in stress and wellness coaching.

But Zen Den isn't built around giving people another list of things they should be doing. I'm interested in what happens after you already know. Why does the plan disappear after a difficult day?

Why do we fall back into familiar patterns under stress? Why can something feel completely manageable one week and almost impossible the next? And most importantly:

How can we respond differently without needing life to become easier first?

That's what I've been building Zen Den to explore.

A different approach to change

Zen Den combines psychology, stress education, behavior change and practical coaching around a simple idea:

Your life doesn't ask the same of you every day. Your approach shouldn't either. Instead of expecting perfect consistency, we work on understanding what's happening, recognizing your current capacity and making more intentional decisions about what comes next.

  • Not perfection.

  • Not endless optimization.

  • Not turning your entire life upside down.

  • Same life. Different participation.

What we're building

Zen Den currently works across two areas:

Adults — private coaching designed to help people close the gap between knowing what they want to change and actually living it.

Schools — practical, age-appropriate stress education designed to help young people understand stress and build useful skills for responding to it.

And we're only getting started
